Dr. Adolf Brown

Today was I blessed to hear Dr. Adolf Brown and he was outstanding. If you ever have a chance to hear him, it is a must. So many of the points he made are true and I hope he made a difference in the audience. It was a day to reflect upon and grow from.

Thanks, Dr. Brown!!!

Football is almost here!

I can't wait until college football! Of course my favorite team is the University of South Carolina Gamecocks! I can't wait until the first game against NC State. I have already purchased my new USC shirts, necklace, and earrings!! I love the articles and press information about the upcoming season. Let's hope it is still positive at the end of the season!

A new school year

I love the beginning of a new school year! It is so exciting to see everyone getting ready to great and teach young people. We have such a huge task, but it is so worth it!!!!

I highly recommend teaching to the strong and committed!

It is almost time

Where has the summer gone? I can't believe school is just around the corner, but it is! I have had a great summer-read four books. I love Dorothea Benton Frank's books. I read Return To Sullivan's Island in just two days. I have also read Fixer-Upper by Mary Kay Andrews and several others. There is nothing like a great book!!!

I served my country as a juror this summer. That was interesting!

Of course, the trips to the beach and mountains were relaxing.

Celebrated 22 years of marriage to a great man!

Where is the Governor?

Well, it is almost the end of the summer and our Governor is still in office. He is not in Columbia at work like most of us, no-he is traveling around Europe with his family. It is amazing that after all the events of June, he leaves the state once again. Are we paying him during all this time off?

I hope not!! Can we survive another 18 months of this? Oh, I don't know.

Please, resign!

Well, it is no surprise that I believe the Governor should resign. He is not a supporter of public education or the basic needs of our great state. He has always been an elitest, and now he can not control himself. I was shocked by the disappearance and then stunned by the affair, but how much more are we suppose to take? He continues to discuss his sinful behavior. If a teacher had left his/her job without getting approval from the principal, then the teacher would be fired. How any workers can disappear for almost a week and keep his/her job? It is time to spare our state of any more disgrace. Please resign Governor!!!!!!

A scare!

A parent's worse nightmare is to get the call that your child has been in an accident. I got that call this week. My stomach was in my throat!! Praise the Lord!, she was not injured. It was the longest ride of my life as I went to the scene. I was relieved to see her!!! I was reminded that the Lord gave me my children for a short time, but with their salvation cemented they are His forever.

I am so thankful she was not injured! I was reminded about how precious life is to all of us!

Where does the time go?

Time passes so quickly! It means like just yesterday when my youngest daughter got her braces. The look of an average teenager. The braces are off and wow! She has always been beautiful, but now she looks so much older. Where does the time go? It is hard to believe she will be getting a high school ring in a few months. Time and daughters are precious!

The season ended

Well, it is over. Our softball season ended much earlier than any of us wanted. I can honestly say it was a great season. Not many teams can say, "We won 20 games." It was a great season!!!

May is just around the corner.

Another busy week comes to an end. Softball regular season is almost over. We finished second in the region with wins over Laurens and Boiling Springs. Now we await the play offs.

My daughters are great. I am so blessed to have two beautiful young ladies.

He is Risen!

Easter Sunday!
A beautiful day to celebrate the King! We watched the presentation of the passion play last night and it was breath-taking. This morning our pastor delivered a powerful sermon on the death and resurrection of Jesus. The floggings, crown of thorns, nails in his hands, and the piercing of His side-only the Son of God could endure that for us.

Praise God, He is Risen!!!!!!

Another great night of fast pitch softball. The Lady Rebels beat Boiling Springs in 5 innings-11-1.
Wow! What does the future hold for these ladies?

Go Lady Rebels! Tomorrow night: Mauldin

Where is our Governor?

I try to stay free of politics on the web, because you never know who may be reading, but I can't resist this one. Our so-called governor is absent again when the people of SC need a governor. He is trying to make a political statement for his so called bid for 2012. Please! He can not even represent the people of our great state, so what makes him think he could run our country. The stimulus may not be the answer, but we have to pay for it anyway. Why should I pay for California or Mississippi to get our part of the money. Take the money!!
Oh, I can't wait until his term ends in 2010.

Where has spring break gone?

It is hard to believe spring break is coming to an end. It has been relaxing to be home and sleep in. First, I had to rebound from my Disney World trip. It was awesome! I love Disney! They think of every detail and it is always a dream come true trip for any age.

I have read to two books and started a third one. I highly recommend Mary Alice Monroe's books. I just started Mary Kay Andrew's new book, Deep Dish, and is great so far. I will keep you posted.

Oh well, I am off to enjoy the last days of break. :)

Another Big Win!

We beat Hillcrest in 8th innings: 4-3!!!! A nail biter, but a great win!!! Go Lady Rebels!!!

We did it!

Our girls beat the number 2 team in the state tonight!!!!

They played a flawless game defensively!!!!

Go ladies!!!!!!

Tuesday, March 10, 2009

We won!!!

The Rebels won tonight!!! The catcher, my daughter, threw two runners out-one on first and the second on second base. Tomorrow night-The Indians. Go Girls!!!

It's Official!

As of today, my oldest daughter is an official Gamecock! Her acceptance letter is on the table waiting on her to open later after a softball game. I am so proud of her and her accomplishments. I am a little sad that she will be leaving home, but she is growing up and has big plans.

I know she will do well and we will continue to be proud of her.

Stay tuned :)

A Share of the SEC East

Well, we lost to UT, but we still got a share of the SEC East title! Go Gamecocks! We are getting ready for the SEC tournament and who knows maybe a SEC title.

I love middle schoolers. Every day I am blessed to work with great young people. I get to enjoy their energy and most importantly their sense of humor. I can't think of a better age to work with.

Softball Time!!!

It is March and that means time for fast pitch softball! I am the mother of the world's best catcher and we have had a great start to the season. In scrimmages, we have tied 2 state champions and most importantly played well in every outing. Today, we came in second at the local pre-season tournament. Not bad, but we were inches from winning it all!

Good things ahead for our team as well. Stay tuned for updates!

Oh well!

Well, if you follow sports then you know there was a little disappointment in the Gamecock world on Thursday night. :( It didn't end the way I wanted, but a year ago, who would have thought the men's basketball team would be 20 wins and less than 10 losses? First round bye in the SEC tournament? Not me! I do believe bright days are ahead for Coach Horn and our Gamecocks!

Waiting for our Next Game

We are less than 24 hours away from tip off at the Colonial Life Center. I hope the garnet army is ready to be loud and supportive for our Gamecocks! I hope the place is a sell out and full of energy for our Gamecocks! I will be at home watching on television! Go Gamecocks!!

The snow has been fun, but it is now delaying the start of another passion of mine-Gamecock Football. Our spring practice has been delayed due to weather, and if you saw us the last three games on offensive then you know we need every practice!

None the less, I have all the confidence and hope this is going to be a great year to be a Gamecock!

Another Snow Day!

Snow is still everywhere in Upstate South Carolina. Our family snowman is a little smaller today, but he still adorns his USC hat proudly. I am sure he is hanging around until we beat UT on Thursday night.

Go Gamecocks!

First Day on the Blog

Happy Snow Day!

I have always loved living in beautiful South Carolina and snow on March 1st is another great reason. We have enjoyed time at home watching television and yes of course building our snowman. It is rather large with sunglasses and a USC hat, of course. We threw snowballs and made snow angels as well. We decided to walk the neighborhood and see what everyone else was up too. Snowpeople, angels, and flying snowballs were everywhere. One of neighborhood children hit me, yes me in the back of the head. Everyone laughed but me!

A day like today reminds me of God's strength. Only He can send snowflakes that are never repeated and only He can place them on top of tree branches, so they look like a planned picture.

I hope everyone enjoyed the snow!
